Things to do in Idukki

Idukki is Kerala’s highland district. These are the experiences we recommend first.

Idukki at a glance

Idukki is a district in the Western Ghats known for tea and spice plantations, forests, dams and waterfalls. It is cooler than the coast and best explored with a local driver who knows the roads.

Our top things to do

Tour the tea hills in Munnar

Take a jeep through tea country, stop at Lakshmi Hills, Kottapara view point and a spice garden, and watch the sunset. See Munnar tour packages.

Go into the forest at Mankulam

A jungle jeep safari, the 33 Waterfalls, a hanging bridge and a river crossing. See Mankulam tour packages.

Watch the sunrise at Kolukkumalai

Ride an off-road jeep trail, trek in the evening and wake for sunrise above the clouds. See the Kolukkumalai trekking package.

Look for elephants at Anakkulam

Wild elephants sometimes gather to drink here. Sightings depend on the day and cannot be promised, so watch quietly from a distance.

Relax by the water

Reservoirs such as Mattupetty Dam are calm places to stop between hills.

Beyond our standard packages

Idukki also has other well-known places, such as Thekkady, Vagamon and the Idukki Arch Dam. They are not part of our standard packages, but we can customise a trip, so ask us.

Plan it

Packages start at ₹1,999 per person. Compare everything on our Idukki tour packages page.
